When the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Matteson (Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington) move into their new house, they expect a warm reception from the town and their neighbors. Most of the neighbors live up to their expectations. But the first night that the couple sleeps in their new bedroom, they find that one of their neighbors, Abel Turner (Samuel Jackson), has security lights that shine into their bedroom. When they go to talk to him, Abel takes Chris out for his neighborhood watch route, where Chris finds out a lot about the neighborhood and also about Abel. As it turns out Abel is a cop, and he has a problem with the Mattesons being an interracial couple. They again to talk to him the next day after Abel has still not shut off his lights. This is when he starts making the Matteson’s life miserable. When petty crimes start happening all around their house, they immediately get suspicious of Abel, but when they call the cops to investigate, Abel is not even thought of as a suspect because he has been in the force for 30 years. This gives him a sort of freedom to do whatever he wants to the Mattesons with almost no repercussions. The Mattesons try to retaliate with some of their own ideas, such as shining their own security lights into Abel’s bedroom window. This makes the cop lay off for a while, but also makes him retaliate even more. While the whole neighborhood is at a party down the street, Abel hires a thug to go into the house and trash the place. But when Mrs. Matteson starts feeling sick, she goes home and discovers the thug. She hits their house alarm and Chris and Abel run back to the Matteson house to find out what is going on. When they get there, Abel shoots the thug and tries to get rid of the evidence tying him and the thug together. Then the story takes an interesting turn, but I don’t want to ruin the story for everyone that wants to watch it yet. Even though many critics have given this movie a mediocre review I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes a good thriller.

Super Smash Bros.: Brawl
|
As stores release new fighting games, one franchise has released the most anticipated sequel to their franchise. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is everything you wanted in a fighting game and more. Released for the Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl surpasses all expectations and its previous sequels, Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Many game modes appear including Subspace Emissary, Classic, Events, and Vault. Subspace Emissary is the story mode and deals with Subspace Army who wants to steal pieces of that world with subspace bombs. In Classic mode, you can choose your favorite character and enter fight with every other unlocked fighter. Events have you perform certain tasks in an allotted time or collect coins. Lastly, Vault includes the chronicle history of Nintendo games, stage builder, stickers, trophies, and coin launcher. The game includes thirty-five characters to choose on the menu selection. The game includes characters from previous games such Mario, Yoshi, Ness, Captain Falcon, Peach, Zelda, and Ganondorf; however, Super Smash Bros. Brawl introduces new characters including Wario, Pit, King Dedede, Solid Snake, and Sonic the Hedgehog. The possibilities for battles are endless. One of the best parts of Super Smash Bros. Brawl is custom stage. In this mode, players can build their own stage with parts and music they locked. After creating and naming the stage, we can play on our own stage or send it to our friends on Wi-Fi. Another great feature is Online Play. With Online Play, players can watch tournaments or fight with anyone around the world. Players can bet on matches to earn coins or have their matches viewed by other players from different countries. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the first Wii game to support all four types of controllers. We can use the Wii-Mote, the Wii-Mote with Nunchuck, the classic controller, and the GameCube Controller. The game can allow us choose what controller we are most comfortable using. With more details and more fluency in the game, we have a richer experience with gameplay with more music than the previous installments. The characters also feel more balanced and have better fighting controls. Super Smash Bros. Brawl deserves the praise it has earned. With tons of extras and characters to find, players will spend many months playing this game. Players will spend even more time when they have friends to play with them. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is one of the greatest fighting games to date.
