Line Rider
Many games have been banned from the school internet because teachers don’t want students playing games during school. But there is one game that they are letting through, and that is Line Rider. This is a game that you play online, in which you use your mouse to draw lines and make a man on a sled ride them. You can make this course as long or a short as you want. This is a game that requires you to think like an engineer. It is a game that makes you use your imagination to come up with different ways to make things work, and the possibilities are endless! Line Riders all over the internet have made such things as courses that ride mountains, skate parks, there has even been a McDonalds commercial made by line riders. Even though this game is fun, it can take a lot of dedication and time to make a great course, so if you are willing to put in the effort, you can have something really great on your hands and something to show off to your friends. This game was released in September 2006 by Deviant Art. The whole game was started and was an instant hit, and was spread all over the web. In August 2008, Deviant Art started Line Rider 2, which allows for more in depth line riding action. Overall, this is a great game and is a fun way to pass time in study hall, or if you are sneaky enough, in class.

Kid Rock: Rock n Roll Jesus
On October 9, 2007, this 37 year old released his sixth album, Rock n Roll Jesus. This album it shows how Kid Rock is moving away from rap, and going onto some other genres. Kid Rock pulled off the Hard rock, southern rock, and country rock in his new album. ”Roll On” and “New Orleans” incorporate jazz to his sound, the first time he’s ventured into that genre since 1996 with “Early Mornin Stoned Pimp” and “Detroit Thang”. The album also features the vocals of golfer John Daley on “Half Your Age” and the rock hit “All Summer Long” which has brought the album to double platinum status in the U.S. and gold in Canada. Rock N Roll Jesus has received positive revues from critics. Rolling Stone gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, stating “His good-hearted faith in rock & roll delivers a powerful Kick. As he well knows and Rock N Roll Jesus proves roaring guitars, truckloads of attitude and an unquenchable lust for life make up for a multitude of sins”. Kid Rock shows his wistful side too. “All Summer Long” takes its inspiration from “Night Moves,” by Bob Seger (Kid’s Michigan idol). “Amen” imports a gospel choir to denounce religious hypocrisy, racism and pointless soldiers’ deaths in Iraq. There’s straight country, hard-edged rock, big sound balladry and rhymes declaimed over metal guitar. If you are thinking about getting this album make sure you go and listen to his music before just going out and buying it just because of the song “All Summer Long”. Kid Rock took a little twist to things this time, from going to rock-rap, he went to country rock, jazz, southern rock, and going into more of that 70’s genre of music. So if you like all that music and like a little twist to some things I say this is a good cd.
