The Trans-Siberian Orchestra

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a rock orchestra that was founded in 1996 by Paul O’Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva. The Orchestra united a 60-piece orchestra plus chorus with the talents of Paul O’Neil and others. The band has been described in many different styles such as symphonic metal, heavy metal and with influences from classical music. This group is currently based in New York City but tours world wide frequently and brings their music to sometimes unclear areas. There are many band members to this band that include the Vovalists: Jennifer Cella, Patti Russo, Steve Broderick, Danielle Landherr, and Bryan Hicks. The Guitarists are Al Pitrelli, Chris Caffer, Alex Skolnick, and Terry Syrek. The other musicians include Johnny Lee Middleton(bass), Jeff Plate(drums), Mee Eun Kim(keyboards), Jane Mangini(keyboards), and Mark Wood(violin).The Trans-Siberian orchestra is very well known for its traditional Christmas songs. The Lost Christmas Eve, released in 2004, is one of the four and soon to be five albums the group has done. Along with the Lost Christmas Eve the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has had another three albums released. Christmas Eve and Other Stories was released in 1996 is a cd of the many famous Christmas carols with a added touch of rock. The Christmas Attic was released in 1998 and is the second cd of christmas carols by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. This cd takes classic Christmas carols and adds a rock touch that the orchestra is very well known for. Beethoven’s Last Night is an album released in 2000 by the orchestra that tells the fictional story of Ludwig van Beethoven. It tells about the last night of his life before the devil Mephistopheles comes to collect his soul. The album is a rock opera featuring classical rock songs which are based on melodies from classical music, mostly Beethoven’s works. Also In the summer of 2009 the group plans to release an album titled Night Castle. This album however is not a Christmas album.

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on September 4th, 1981 in Houston, Texas. In the late 1990’s Beyoncé was the lead singer of the group Destiny’s Child. Destiny’s Child is the best-selling girls group of all time. Destiny’s Child released three albums: Destiny’s Child, The writings on the wall and Survivor. After leaving the group, Beyoncé released her first album on her own, Dangerously in Love in 2003. That album was one of the most successful albums released that year. The most popular songs on the album were, “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”. Other songs on this album include: “Naughty Girl”, “Hip Hop Star”, “Be With You”, “Me, Myself and I”, “Yes”, “Signs”, “Speechless”, “That’s How You Like it”, “The closer I get to you”, “Dangerously In Love 2”,”Gift From Virgo” and “Daddy”. Beyoncé received five Grammy awards and proved she could make it as a solo artist. Beyoncé released her second album, B’Day in 2006. The well-known song, “Irreplaceable” was a huge hit. This album has the songs: “Déjà vu”, “Get Me Bodied”, “Suga Mama”, “Upgrade U”, “Ring the Alarm”, “Kitty Kat”, “Freakum Dress”, “Green Light” and “Resentment”. Beyoncé will release her third album, I am…Sasha Fierce on November 18,2008. The popular songs on this album are “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it). Beyoncé has had many accomplishments so far in her life. She launched her clothing line, House of Deréon, in 2004. Deréon comes from her grandmother, Agnéz Deréon. She has been in Pepsi commercials with Britney Spears, Pink, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias and David Beckham. She has also done commercials for Tommy Hilfiger and L’Oreal. Beyoncé has been, somewhat secretly, dating rapper, Jay Z since 2004. They finally married in April of 2008.
