Punisher full of irony and action
By Lisa Bass

Many people may ask who the heck is “The Punisher”. Well to be honest, I hadn’t heard of him either until I went to the theater and saw the film. The Punisher (Thomas Jane) is a comic hero, or so he’s been labeled but he doesn’t seem like your average comic book hero.

The Punisher, Frank Castle, loses everything that means anything to him. He turns to revenge and will use any method to get back at the man responsible for it all.

Mr. Saint, (John Travolta) ironically the bad guy, loses a son and goes after the man that set up the deal that got him killed. With money and enough patience Mr. Saint finds out that Castle was the one behind everything and wants revenge. Sending his thugs Saint orders a hit on Castle’s entire family.

Barely surviving the attack on his family Castle manages some how to pull through and move into the city, letting everyone believe he’s dead. Choosing his moment Castle starts causing trouble of Saint.

While the sneaky attacks on Saints money shipments take place, Castle finds himself in a rundown old apartment building, which gets demolished during the movie. The other three occupants of the build turn out to be the ones that bring Castle back from the edge and shows him there is still hope in the world. Castle will go to any length to protect them once he realizes that they would and will do the same for him.

Once business is taken care of with the Saints, a little trickery on Castles part, he decides to head out of town. The movie was hilarious, the irony and humor was the best. There was action and drama, a little romance for the saps out there. Some very nice cars, let’s just say that they don’t make it through the entire movie in one piece. Overall the movie was grade A material and I would recommend it to any hero fanatic out there.
